Nan Li Pianist

The young Chinese pianist Nan Li was born in Beijing, China. At the age of 11 she was already winner of the national competition BoSi and made her debut in Hongkong. After studies in Xi’an and at the University of Music Beijing she continued her studies among others at the Anton Bruckner University (Class of G. Hemetsberger) and the University of Music Vienna (Class of J. Marian).

The repertoire of Nan Li focusses above all on First Viennese School, Chopin as well as on virtuoso literature of Romanticism. It is exactly in this sector where she clearly shows her qualities: faithfulness to the original and never pushing subjective moments in the front as well as technical mastership and perfection, making highest demands on herself without compromises. Besides warmth and authenticity of emotion, always supported by artistic honesty of the interpreter.
